Hello and welcome to my homepage!  My passion has always been teaching, but my path to where I am today took a few twists and turns.   I'm a native of Buffalo, New York (yes, they get a lot of snow) and a graduate of Buffalo State College where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism.  After working as a newspaper reporter for several years, then in public relations for a non-profit organization, and finally as a court reporter (they always make it look simple on tv but it is hard!) my husband and I moved from Buffalo to Virginia where I took some time off to raise our three children. During that time period, I decided to go back to school to pursue my passion of teaching and was awarded a Master's of Education with a specialization in Elementary Education from Old Dominion University. 

Everyone is growing up; my daughter graduated from West Virginia University and my two sons are in high school.  This is my fifth year teaching third grade at Kerrydale Elementary.  Before coming to Kerrydale, I also taught third grade at Leesylvania Elementary.  I truly love working at Kerrydale Elementary and enjoy my students everyday!
